VRYHEID KZN: Dagga smugglers try to bribe police

The suspects have been charged with possession of dagga, as well as an added charge of bribery

17 bales of dagga were recovered by police on the Natal Spa road during police operations last night (May 12). Police officers sprung into action upon noticing a suspicious-looking vehicle with two occupants and Swaziland registration plates travelling along the P34-4 Natal Spa road. A high-speed chase ensued and police managed to intercept the vehicle. The fleeing suspects tried to bribe a police officer when the drugs were found. In addition to the dagga, over R6000 in cash was also recovered. The suspects have been charged with possession of dagga, as well as an added charge of bribery.
