Ladysmith KZN: Armed gang rob shop in Alfred Street
Police responded to the scene and an investigation is underway
Five armed robbers burst into Bago Wholesale in Alfred Street this morning (May 12), demanding money.
The security guard was made to lie on the ground and held at gunpoint. The cashiers at the till points had no choice but to hand over money, as they felt their lives were on the line.

An employee, Ahmed Khan, explained how petrified he and the rest of the staff were, as the men pointed guns at them and threatened to shoot if their orders were not obeyed.
He said luckily no one was injured and no customers were in the store at the time. The staff were pushed around and locked in the back of the shop while the robbers took all the cash in the tills.
An undisclosed sum of money was taken.
