Ladysmith KZN: Cigarette truck heist along N11
The truck driver was held at gunpoint
A truck transporting cigarettes from Ladysmith to Elandslaagte was ambushed on the N11 last night (April 15).
At about 7.15pm, three suspects in an unidentified grey vehicle blocked the road, jumped out of their car and held a firearm to the truck driver’s head.

Two of the suspects unsuccessfully tried to open the truck’s safe, while the third robber demanded money.
“They fled the scene after stealing cash and tobacco products,” said police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.
Ladysmith police are currently investigating the matter and no arrests have been made as yet.
