NEWCASTLE KZN: Mayor says municipality will focus on ‘bread and butter’ issues (WATCH)

Cllr Mahlaba says he understands the 'sense of urgency and immediacy displayed by residents'.

Mayor of Newcastle, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba believes a successful road is ahead after years of municipal mismanagement.

During a pre State of the Town Address (SOTA) at Tramonto Boutique Hotel on March 3, Mahlaba informed members of the media about his plans for Newcastle and the surrounding areas in the coming financial period.

“This month, the municipality will ready itself to deliver the extraordinary State of the Town Address, which will be delivered virtually; our focus will be on bread and butter issues.”

Cllr Mahlaba said the municipality would be shying away from ‘willy-nilly and unfruitful deliberations’ but also understood the ‘sense of urgency and immediacy displayed by residents’.

“…But mostly, we need to improve the lives of ordinary Newcastle residents.”
