Ladysmith KZN: Havoc as massive hole is left unfilled in business centre driveway

"It has become a nightmare"

King Street has become a nightmare for business owners and motorists after a massive hole was dug outside a business centre.

The gaping hole was dug by uThukela workers last year and has still not been filled so that trading can carry on as usual.

The driveway entrance to the business centre can’t be used and all the paving has been removed.

“It has become a nightmare,” say business owners in the area. They add that they are losing business due to this issue and to make matters worse, raw sewage is now flowing out and causing a terrible stench.

One lane in King Street has been closed off due to the hole, as well as the rubble and mud, making driving very difficult for motorists.

The owners of the businesses at the centre are hoping the issue will be resolved soon, as they have been waiting since last year. “Things can’t carry on like this!”
