Spend your money wisely, even if everyone around you does not...

2020 has been characterised by an unremitting and unfortunate strangeness in the form of Covid-19, so it’s no surprise that Black Friday fits right in. People are already doing the countdown for this day (Black Friday – November 27) when everyone converges on stores to snaffle up all the deals on offer!

Shops have been running Black Friday deals since mid-October, but there’s just something ultra-special about the day itself! It’s no secret that 2020 has not been a good year, with the Covid-19 pandemic hitting everyone hard. People have lost jobs and been retrenched, so it’s not a wise idea to over-spend tomorrow (November 27). Think about the debt you will incur that will hang around until 2021.

So when you’re doing your shopping tomorrow, set your spending limit to ensure that you don’t go overboard and regret it later. Make a list of all the things you need, to avoid buying unnecessary items, and keep track of your spending even if everyone goes ‘mad’ around you.
