Ladysmith KZN: Armed robbery at computer store

The suspects ran for their lives after being attacked with a broom handle

It seems that the number of armed robberies in town is still increasing as the festive season approaches.

Armed robbers ended up ‘running for their lives’ after targeting a computer shop in Murchison Street this morning (October 24).

Two suspects entered the store, one with a knife, and held up two female employees. They then proceeded to steal electronic goods.

Staff at the back of the store heard “strange noises” and went to see what was going on.

They saw the robbers and attacked them with a broom handle.

The armed suspects dropped some of the electronic goods they were in the process of stealing and fled. The back-office staff gave chase.

The pursuing staff unfortunately ‘lost’ them at the taxi rank and the robbers managed to escape capture.
