Ladysmith KZN: Water pours down Hunter Road after pipe burst

Water everywhere, yet the town has water-shedding in place

Hunter Road is awash as thousands of litres of water pour down the street, thanks to a burst pipe.

uThukela have been busy at the intersection for a couple of days, attempting to fix a leak.

It is expected that they will once again try to repair the leaking pipe, which appears to have burst a few metres from the previous leak.

With uThukela District communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza yesterday (October 21) claiming that low bulk water levels in the reservoirs were making it impossible to keep to the water-shedding schedule, the current leak will only worsen the situation.
