ESTCOURT: Elderly man severely burnt after veldt fire
Umtshezi Fire Protection Association chairperson Warren Blaker said that the injured man was stabilized on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care
Emergency services were on scene earlier this afternoon (September 25) when a veldt fire broke out in the Ennersdale area.
It is suspected that the fire may have been intentionally lit by locals and spread quickly in the dry and windy weather conditions.

When KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service attended the scene, they found that an elderly herdsman had sustained burns as he attempted to get livestock out of the fire’s range.
