Roaring success as bikers hold charity run

The run took place on Sunday, with bikers leaving their respective places of residence to converge on Ladysmith

An initiative by Just Cruising Motorcycle Club in Dundee to raise funds for Glencoe’s Aryan Benevolent Home (ABH) was a huge success.

The ABH was robbed on July 17, prompting bikers from all around NKZN – including Estcourt, Mooi River and even Pietermaritzburg – to come to the ‘party’ and raise funds for the Home in the form of a charity run.

The run took place on Sunday, with bikers leaving their respective places of residence to converge on Ladysmith, where they met at the back of Oasis Garage in Murchison Street.

A huge turnout of about 60 participants from different areas and different motorcycle clubs joined forces for a good cause. Speaking to one of the organisers, Mac Osman, he said the turnout and funds raised surpassed all expectations, and every cent donated was appreciated by them.

A big thank you was extended to Hard Target Motorcycle Club and Lockk Riders Motorcycle Club, as well as all the other clubs that were present and helped make the event a roaring success.

Mac Osman also thanked Mohammed Seedat, Asad Khan, Kuben Padayachee, and each and every biker for their attendance and generosity. There will be a ‘Ride against Farm Attacks’ on August 29, in conjunction with farmers in the area.

This event will comprise a ride and drive for 360km in Ladysmith, Dundee, Glencoe, Utrecht and Vryheid, ending off in Newcastle.

Bikers and farmers are urged to join hands for this ride with a powerful purpose. The bikers look forward to seeing you at the next event.
