Triple tragedy as 3 children die in Ezakheni house fire

The incident has sent shock waves throughout KZN

The Ladysmith community is mourning the sad passing of three children who died in a house fire in Ezakheni in the early hours of this morning (July 30).

The incident has sent shock waves throughout the entire KwaZulu-Natal province.

The three children were asleep in the Hlubi family residence in Ezakheni B-Section when the house caught fire.

KZN MEC for Co-Operative Governance & Traditional Affairs (COGTA) Sipho Hlomuka has sent his deepest condolences to the Hlubi family, who have lost young members in such a tragic way.

“We are shattered to lose three children in this manner. A thorough investigation into the circumstances of this tragedy will be conducted by Disaster Management teams. The department is co-ordinating relief for the Hlubi family as they deal with this tragedy,” said MEC Hlomuka.

Cllr Madinane has also sent his condolences to the family.
