Municipal teams on site to restore water supply

Municipal units are restoring the supply of water in the Ncandu area and Barry Hertzog Park.

Municipal technical teams are currently repairing more burst pipes this morning.

According to Newcastle Municipality, teams are on site in Sunset View, following reports of a ruptured water line in the area.

“Municipal units are also currently busy restoring the supply of water in the Ncandu area and Barry Hertzog Park, following a failure on the valve,” said the municipal Head of Communications, Mlungisi Khumalo. “Residents are encouraged to report burst pipes, so the technical units can fix them as speedily as possible.”

Khumalo also revealed that the municipality was currently in the process of establishing a dedicated WhatsApp line, through which residents could more efficiently report problems.
