Protest action in Fairleigh called for strong police presence, as rocks covered part of the road leading to the community hall.
Protesters also blockaded access to roads using rubbish from black bin bags and municipal skips. Civil servants from the Department of Community Services were later seen sweeping the rubbish off the roads and removing the rocks.

“There have been two incidents of protest action. One was in Lennoxton at the intersection of Boundary Road and Panorama Drive, and here at Fairleigh,” said a police officer at the scene.
Journalists on scene did not appear welcomed by the crowd and police warned them to steer clear. A protester then approached one of the officers and assured him the crowd would be dispersed.
