Two motor vehicle accidents on the same day

KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the Vryheid East Transnet Depot, where a bakkie had collided with a log train

Thursday morning started off with a collision between two vehicles on the R69 Hlobane road at the Sikame turn-off.
When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found that three people were severely injured.
After the patients were treated on scene, they were rushed to hospital for further medical attention.
Later the same day, the KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the Vryheid East Transnet Depot, where a bakkie had collided with a log train. The bakkie driver (who is in his early 60s) sustained moderate injuries, while the yardsman (who was on top of the train) sustained only minor injuries. The men were taken to hospital for further care.
The exact cause of the accidents is unknown and under investigation by authorities.
