Mascor Vryheid launches the stylish new T-Cross

The launch of the T-Cross in Vryheid saw Mascor pulling out all the stops, to ensure existing clients and potential buyers were treated to a day to remember.

The all new Volkswagen T-Cross made her stunning debut at Mascor Vryheid on Saturday and she certainly was a sight to behold.

Aside from being incredibly easy on the eyes, this little 1-litre beauty boasts all the comfort, style and technology one has grown to expect from the manufacturers at Volkswagen.

Entertainment included live music from Black Whiskey’s Phillip Taylor and band, Box Milk, laser clay pigeon shooting and a jumping castle for the children. Despite this, the T-Cross was certainly the star of the show.
The postbox red display vehicle drew the attention of the crowd with her stylish features and striking appearance, enticing young and old to have a closer look and see how the T-Cross is just as appealing on the inside as on the exterior.

Sales Executive, Tracy Taljard provided an in-depth tour of the T-Cross, highlighting some of the classic features and the more modern technological advances Volkswagen has included in this highly anticipated Polo-based crossover SUV.

“Technically, she’s definitely not challenged,” explained Tracy from the driver’s seat. “This girl has got everything every family member wants. No matter your age, this girl has definitely got it for you.”
With an 85kW engine, driving 200Nm of torque and 1000ccs, the T-Cross also comes with a five star Euro NCAP rating.

“When it comes to safety features, you cannot go wrong here,” elaborated Tracy. “There are two main criteria to consider when buying your vehicle: save my life and minimise my injuries, and there we are totally on board with the T-Cross.”

The new model is available in nine different colours and comes with 17- or 18-inch rims. Its interior provides unrivalled comfort and a reasonable amount of passenger and luggage space for the average family weekend away.
The T-Cross also comes standard with a Driver Alert System, which includes front assist area monitoring, lane keeping and hill starting assistance, Volkswagen’s Proactive Occupant Protection – a system which detects when an emergency manoeuvre is being made and prepares the vehicle and its occupant restraint systems in advance of a possible collision, automatic adaptive cruise control, parking assist and a blind spot detection, lane-change assist system with an integrated rear traffic alert.
Volkswagen’s funky T-Cross is available in an entry level Trendline, a comprehensive spec Highline, a racier R-Line and a Comfortline model.

“The Comfortline runs a 1-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine generating 85kW of power and 200Nm of torque through a seven-speed DSG transmission,” wrote The Citizen’s Mark Jones. “And as the numbers suggest, driving the T-Cross is never going to be a wild tyre-shredding experience. But what the car lacks in ultimate pace, it makes up for in smooth, more than adequate drive. At market launch, the T-Cross will only be available in a 1-litre TSI with 85kW power and pricing starts at R334 600. In the first quarter of 2020, the 110kW 1.5-litre TSI will be introduced at R403 500 and in the second quarter, the range will be completed with the introduction of the 70kW engine entry level model that will debut just under R306 000.”

The stylish new Volkswagen T-Cross was the star of the show at Mascor Vryheid on Saturday.

The T-Cross comes standard with a three-year/120 000km warranty, a three-year/45 000km Volkswagen Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
