Primary school learners know their rights

"A huge thank you from Harpo Primary School and Stepping Stones Academy, to SAPS and the officials who offered their time to talk to the children," wrote teacher, Isabelle Meyer.

Local law enforcement paid a visit to the learners of Harpo Primary School and Stepping Stones Academy recently, to educate them on important matters relating to Child Protection Week.

Warrant Officer Sangweni, Warrant Officer Magubane and Captain Cheryl Venter, along with Sergeant Dhlamini and Captain Zikalala, spoke to the boys about what to do when strangers approach them, that they have the right to say no when feeling uncomfortable, and that they, as children, had the right to tell an adult if someone touched them inappropriately.

“A huge thank you from Harpo Primary School and Stepping Stones Academy, to SAPS and the officials who offered their time to talk to the children,” wrote teacher, Isabelle Meyer.
