Dull due to age and the weather, the Estcourt Hospice Charity Shop signboard got a fresh coat of paint courtesy of Ms Gericke.

On Friday morning, she hopped onto a ladder and got to work, repainting the lettering and graphics on the sign.  She was happy to receive several approving comments from passersby while applying masterful strokes to restore the sign to its former glory.

“I decided to paint the sign as my Mandela Day goodwill deed,” said Ms Gericke.

Belinda Smith from the charity shop profusely thanked Ms Gericke for her time and effort.

“Thanks so much, Sherlene, we really appreciate all you always do for the Estcourt Hospice Association,” said Mrs Smith.

The charity shop in Victoria Street is one of the sources of funds for Hospice, that provides palliative care to dozens of patients and their family.
