THE SCENES at two different filling stations in Nongoma were like that of a movie with bullets and money flying as robbers fired shots at the police before taking off with large sums of money.

Three police officers were wounded during the early hours of Monday morning while they were responding to the armed robberies at a Shell and a Caltex garage in the area.

According to the SAPS’ Captain Nkosie Gwala, the officers were contacted to attend to the business robberies and were travelling in two different police vehicles when the incidents occurred.
