Shepstone Place Winter Market is a success

A whopping R6 000 plus was raised for Shepstone Place Home for the Aged

Music, conversation, food and fun were in the air on Saturday morning when the Shepstone Place Winter Market was held.

This fund-raising event was hosted by Sherlene Gericke, who pulled out all the stops to ensure that maximum profit was made for Shepstone Place Home for the Aged.

The Estcourt Methodist Churchyard was awash with stalls displaying colourful crafts and treats.
Shoppers browsed through the stalls, picking up homemade and one-of-a-kind goodies for a bargain price.

Nondumiso Mlaba sold cosmetics at the market.

While the parents shopped, the children were kept entertained at a Kids Zone as well as a pottery painting class, both of which were busy with the constant flow of children.

Ndima Dengu helps dad Tanaka at his stall selling handbags, decorative material and soaps.

“The Winter Market was a great success; we made R6 587 for Shepstone Place. I would like to thank everyone who supported us,” said Ms Gericke.

Ryan Ramsumer enjoyed painting this castle at the pottery painting class.

This amount excludes the raffle for Peter Rabbit. Shepstone Place Chairlady Sherryl Lane thanked the community.

Romerandh and Babita Narain with the fresh produce they sold at their stall.

“The market was nicely supported and for that we are grateful. For me, there was a very festive spirit, which was lovely. Locals can now look forward to our Christmas Market on November 30,” said Mrs Lane.
