A light show to never forget

A spectacular light show that allows you to help those in need.

From December 1, the Tolmay’s will be opening their backyard to the public to host the second edition of their Christmas Lights Delight.

As they did last year, they will be hosting a light festival like no other with the intention of raising awareness and collecting resources for those less fortunate. At the event, they will be collecting toiletries and sanitary products, non-perishable and tin foods, baby food and products and cleaning products for a selected charity.

Jennifer Tolmay explained, “My favourite part of this is our charity that we donate everything to at the end of December. This year we will be doing this for Teens-Haven. The organisation has put their heart and soul into helping these kiddies get an education and make them feel wanted and loved. Unfortunately, they do not get any support from the government and they solely rely on the community for donations.”

Last year Friends of Rescued Animals was selected as the beneficiary of the event and according to Tolmay, it went extremely well judging by the turnout, collected items and the lighting up of people’s faces when they saw the light display. They plan to do the same if not more this year and hope to put many more smiles on many more faces.

She added, “The reason we want people to come is not only to support a good cause but to put a little light and love into their lives. Last year we met people that had the most horrific stories and tragedies, but for at least a brief moment we were able to take that away. I remember when I was a child and my late brother used to take us into Joburg town to see the lights. I’m trying to bring that back to our children’s lives. Christmas is about sharing, caring and giving.”
