Former Northcliff High learners to star in international musical

NORTHCLIFF – Former students still represent their former high school.

The international touring production of Chicago The Musical features three multi-talented ex-Northcliff High School learners.

The former learners, Carmen Pretorius (matriculated 2008), Samantha Peo (matriculated 1988) and Jonathan Roxmouth (matriculated 2005), have brought their electric skills and captivating performances to the stage of this production.

Former Northcliff High School students Samantha Peo, Jonathan Roxmouth and Carmen Pretorius are part of the cast for the 2018/2019 edition of the musical Chicago.

Peo, Pretorius and Roxmouth starred in a number Northcliff High School productions staged by theatre director and Northcliff High School teacher, Nick Jourdan.

The ex-Northcliff High School trio is part of an all-South African cast, crew, band and creative team along with the legendary Ilse Klink.

Pretorius plays the role of Roxie Hart while Peo returns to the show for the third time but now in the role of Velma Kelly.

Joining them on stage is Roxmouth as the devious lawyer, Billy Flynn.

All three artists have established themselves as stars across a number of entertainment genres including musical theatre, stage, film, television and corporate events.

The story of Chicago is an enticing tale of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery – characteristics the entire world is drawn to.

Since 25 August this year, the show has been performed in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand and will move on to perform in a number of cities across China from mid-September this year.

From March next year, these stars will bring one of the most successful international musical hits of all time to South Africa.

They will first perform in Cape Town, from 15 March to 14 April, and then move on to Montecasino’s Teatro, from 20 April to 26 May.

Bookings are open and can be made through Computicket.
