Stroomop is a movie that tells the story of five women who are victims to life’s rough waters as they find themselves drowning in their careers and personal relationships.

These women decide to actively work at changing this and decide to take an adventure on the Orange River which leads them to a nightmare chain of events.

First, their boat capsizes then their river guide goes missing and thereafter they need to work together to survive the wilderness.

Directors Ivan Botha and Donnalee Roberts explained the message behind this inspiring film.

They said, “Sometimes you will have to swim against the current to discover that you are more than enough and that you possess everything you need to overcome what the river of life may float your way.”

This is a lesson the ladies in Stroomop learnt as they struggle through their pain and fear together.

The movie has them explore self-discovery, forgiveness, acceptance and healing.

Stroomop features the talented Donnalee Roberts, Chanelle de Jager and Carla Classen. Linden residents Simone Nortmann and Eliza Cawood and Auckland Park resident Ilse Klink also star in the movie.

Stroomop will be out nationwide on 9 August 2019.

Be sure not to miss it.
