Nate to release debut album

MELVILLE – No more singles and mixtapes for Nate, he's ready to take the South African music scene on.

Melville hip-hop artist, Unathi Mtolo popularly known as Nate, is set to release his debut studio album, God’s Playlist.

Nate, an artist with lyrical prowess, effortless flow and catchy choruses is originally from the Eastern Cape and later moved to KwaZulu-Natal before moving to Gauteng in 2011 to commence with his tertiary education.

While studying between 2011 and 2013, Nate took a break from the music scene but when he graduated he was dying to get back into the studio.

Since graduating, he joined his record label CMG Studios and has been performing all over the country.

Unathi Mtolo popularly known as Nate has yet to give an official debut album release date, but he is eager to take on the South African music scene.

Nate’s last big single was Friend Zone featuring kwaito legend Zola. The song and its music video were released this year and within the first two days of its release, it reached 23 000 views on YouTube.

Friend Zone is NATE’s fourth single and his previous hit, Shisa Bhe took Africa by storm after it got major air time across the continent.

Both songs’ music videos including another single, Mandisa, have not been hits only on YouTube, they also gained popularity on Channel O, MTV Base, Trace Urban and Trace Africa.

Last year Nate released his first mixtape, God’s Work, in preparation for his debut album which is set to be launched this year. An official release date for the album has not yet been announced but the young artist is eager to make his mark in the South African music scene, and soon.
