Emmarentia to turn pink

EMMARENTIA – Streams of pink to fill the Emmarentia streets at the 11th annual Ithemba Walkathon.

Walk for a good cause at the 11th annual Ithemba Walkathon organised by Avon Justine.

The event will be held at Marks Park Sports Complex on 23 October and all ages are welcome to participate.

The Ithemba Walkathon website explained that the word ithemba means hope. The walk is to raise awareness for breast cancer. To date, Avon Justine has managed to raise R20 million selling special pink products for breast cancer education and awareness.

Along with a great walk around Emmarentia on the day, walkers can look forward to a whole host of fun things to do.

The day will have:

Live entertainment with prize giveaways on stage.

Family fun and children’s play area.

Radio DJ’s will broadcast live from the event.

Food stalls to buy meals, snacks and drinks with a variety of vendors selling their goods.

The ‘Check Yourself’ Breast Cancer Awareness dance.

So put on your pinkest Avon pout in the crusade against breast cancer at the 2016 Walkathon and let’s break the Avon world record – #PoutForAPurpose.

You can also make it a fun family day out and bring along your canine companion.

Late entries should be submitted between 18 to 22 October at Marks Park between 10am and 7pm, while online entries close on 15 October.
