Natural health and beauty consultant, Claire Brown, provided some tips on how to use tumeric spice as part of a beauty regime.
“Turmeric is by far my favourite spice as it is a great natural health supplement and is quite dynamic,” said Brown. Other than drinking it daily she said she uses it as a face mask and sees great results. Recently, many celebrities have caught on to this advice and are applying their own turmeric facials.

How to make an awesome turmeric face mask:
Try:
Rose water – 1 teaspoon
Baking soda –1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Or:
Yoghurt – 1 teaspoon
Mashed avocado – 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Or try:
Turmeric powder – 1/3 teaspoon
Egg white of 1 egg
Oats – 1 tablespoon
Apply paste to face and neck and leave for five minutes, then, gently massage with wet fingertips for five minutes. Wash off with cold water.
Precautions with turmeric:
These recipes won’t turn your face yellow but it is recommended that you use a thin layer; the more you pile on, the greater your chances of staining, especially on your neck where skin is thinner. “I noticed some staining on my hands but it came off easily,” said Brown.
Wash your face once again should any discolouring occur.
Enjoy your flawless, glowing, beautiful, naturally healthy skin!
