The first Peruvian festival to hit SA

EMMARENTIA – Guests can enjoy Peruvian dishes and celebrate to live entertainment at the festival.

The Argentinean Association at Marks Park Sports Club and Joburg’s Peruvian community invites everyone to join them for the first-ever Peruvian Festival.

The festival, which will be South Africa’s first, will take place on 31 July and they invite everyone to join them for this historic day.

Celebrating Fiestas Patrias, the Independence Day of Peru, the event will feature a rare photography exhibition, live entertainment, folkloric dances and traditional food. Whilst Peru is well-known for its ancient Inca Empire and the mystical ruins of Machu Picchu, which draws millions of tourists each year, Peruvian food has recently made it onto restaurant tables worldwide for its variety, taste and incredible flavours.

It has – for the sixth consecutive year – been voted culinary destination of the world and boasts gastronomic delights… a feast for the senses!

“A cooking demonstration at the Peru Festival will ensure that all foodies will learn a thing or two about creating a signature Peruvian dish at home, while the more energetic in the crowd will delight in a crash course in Afro-Peruvian dancing,” said marketing director, Zana Alvarado, Adrélatin Entertainment.

There will also be many prizes up for grabs on the day, traditional games and a few surprises. This fun family event will begin at 12 noon, ending at 6pm. Tickets are R60 at the event and children under 10 enter free.

For more information, contact the organisers on 072 650 1442. No pets, food or beverages from outside the premises will be allowed at the event.
