Fairy Dust – A Family Magic Show

Please diarise these dates: 5, 10, 11, 12 and 15 December for an exciting, one-hour family magic show that will be hosted at the NG Kerk in Linden. This exciting show, presented by illusionist Vicus Cruywagen, will keep children and even adults on the edge of their seats. The production promises to take the crowd to an interactive world of magic, illusion, comedy and mystery. Shows start at 10am and costs R40 per person.

James and the Giant Peach at the Children’s National Theatre

If you’re looking for fun-filled entertainment and exciting theatre don’t miss James and the Giant Peach from 1 – 23 December at the National Children’s Theatre. The production has been created especially to entertain children during the school holidays. The show promises to be exciting, magical, heartwarming and sure to spark a child’s imagination. It costs R110 for adults and R90 for children.

Holiday yoga and crafts workshops in Blairgowrie

Yoga is not only for adults but can be enjoyed by children as well. Take your children down to AbsFab Pilates and KidsYoga Studio in Blairgowrie from 10 to 11 December to enjoy some relaxing yoga. This is a great way for them to socialise and get an opportunity to create items for their ‘calm box’ such as lavender eye pillows and glitter time-out jars. Sew and Grow holiday programme in Melville

Teach your children how to sew their own drawstring bags, gloves, denim skirts or winter beanies at 17, 2nd Avenue in Melville this holiday. The workshop will take place on 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 12 December and will be held on Wednesdays to Thursdays from 10am to 12pm, Fridays from 2.45pm to 4.45pm and on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm. Namirembe Pony Camps in Muldersdrift

If your children love horses make sure that they do not miss the exciting three-day holiday fun at Namirembe Pony Camps in Muldresdrift. Children will get the opportunity to ride ponies twice a day as well as feed and groom them. The goal of the camp is to teach children to respect and love horses. Camp dates will be from 1 – 3 December, 8 –10 December, 16 –18 December and 5 to 7 January. The camp will cost R800 for a three-day sleepover. Children from six years and up are welcome to take part. Christmas baking classes in Linden

Get those cooking gloves and aprons on from 4, 9 and 11 December to join in for some fun Christmas baking classes at The Wooden Spoon Kitchen in Linden. Christmas meringues, savoury puff pastry tarts, pizza on a stick, pop-cakes and a pine cone Christmas tree craft will be on the menu for kids to prepare. Holiday dance programme at Laurie Active

If your child has always wanted to learn how to dance, this is the perfect opportunity. The Laurie Active Dance Studio in North Riding’s holiday programme consists of a combination of dance classes. Children can learn modern, hip hop and acrobatics. The dance workshops will take place from 1 to 15 December and from 16 to 31 January. The dance classes will be free of charge.
