Pop and jazz musician Thulisile Mdlalose on the rise

BRIXTON – Musician Thulisile Mdlalose is ready to take her music career to the next level

Thulisile Mdlalose looks like she is following the likes of Yvonne Chaka Chaka and the late Brenda Fassie.

The pop and jazz singer Thuli as she is affectionally known to her fans, has shared stage with the SA jazz legends Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse and Pops Mohamed.

“I was exposed to the music circle by Sipho Mabuse during the Moretele Jazz Festival in 2003,” said the energetic Thuli.

She said Mabuse discovered her at one of his Johannesburg night clubs.

“He owned clubs so I used to perform there,” she said.

Thuli also featured in one of Pop Mohamed’s album called Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow.

“With this album, Mohamed payed tribute to one of the late jazz legends, Moses Molelekwa. I have learned everything I needed to learn about music. I think it is time I produce my own album, ” said Thuli.

She believes it is time to go solo and take her music to the next level.

Thuli is one of the African Footprint lead singers and she has toured the whole world.
