JOBURG – The Gig Guide has a few interesting events lined up for November.

Here’s the Gig Guide with some awesome and entertaining upcoming events:

Madame Zingara – The Celebration at Montecasino

Do not miss this magnificent production from 4 November to 30 January at Montecasino. The production celebrates 15 years and it brings together 35 electrifying artists from 11 countries, who will push the boundaries of theatre to another level. Doors open at 6.30pm while the show start at 8.15pm on Tuesdays to Saturdays. Prices range from R550 to R950. Tickets are available from the Montecasino website.

Electrifying artists from 11 countries will perform in Madame Zingara Celebration Theatre production.

Joburg International Comedy Festival at The Orbit

It is said that there is no better exercise than a good laugh. So get down to The Orbit in Braamfontein from 6 to 8 November to get those stomach muscles working.

The festival features local, continental and international comedians. Performances will be held at the Alexander Theatre, The Orbit, Thirteen, the Bannister Hotel in Braamfontein and at The Market Theatre and Bassline in the Newtown precinct. With 42 comedians scheduled to take part, it is undoubtedly one of the biggest gatherings of comedy talent ever assembled on the continent.

Dinner will be available at The Orbit showing on both nights from 8.30pm until 1am. Tickets can be bought on the Orbit website or at the doors of the different venues.

A total of 42 comedians will participate in the Joburg International Comedy Festival on 6 – 8 November.

Gangs of Ballet album launch at Cresta Barnyard Theatre 

To those who seek to stimulate their musical side or just crave a good time with a great reason to dance, the album launch of this spectacular Durban based Indie-band must not be missed on 9 November at the Cresta Barnyard Theatre. The MTV MAMA Award-winning band have promised to reward the crowd with their style of music. Tickets are R160 and can be bought online or at the venue.

Gangs of Ballet have promised a spectacular performance during the launch of their new album at the Cresta Barnyard Theatre.

Sophiatown Jazz Encounters

Be sure to make your way to 71 Toby Street in Sophiatown 14 November at 8pm. The soothing and calming sounds of live jazz music with the likes of Benjamin Jephta – bassist and composer, Kyle Shepherd, Sphelelo Mazibuko and Sisonke Xonti will ensure an extraordinary show that will take you to another world. Tickets can be bought at the venue for R120. Remember to bring your own cooler box and basket of goodies to snack on while you watch the show. Glasses and ice will be available at the venue.

Craft Beer Revolution Festival at Silverstar

Just because the Rugby World Cup has passed it does not mean that beer lovers can’t still enjoy a cold one. If you love locally brewed beer do not miss the Craft Revolution Beer Festival in the Globe at Silverstar Casino on 14 November. Discover South Africa’s top craft beers while indulging in gourmet street food. Gates open at 12 noon with live music throughout the day. Tickets are R80 and include a glass.

Dance Mouse Annual Concert at Cresta Barnyard Theatre

Ensure that the little ones do not feel left out this weekend and take them down to this fun and exciting children dance show on 14 November at the Cresta Barnyard Theatre. Dance Mouse is a dance programme that is offered as an extra activity for both boys and girls form Grade 000 – Grade 7. Their goal is to expose as many children as possible to all the different dance styles. Their annual show will be performed at 12:30 and 15:30 and cost R70 per ticket.

Dance Mouse will perform their annual concert at Cresta Barnyard.
