If zombies, monsters, mummies, ghosts, witches, vampires and other creepy creatures tickle your fancy, here are a few places to tap into on Saturday, 31 October to give you the ultimate thrill on Halloween night.

Randpark Ridge Community Picnic

Have you ever wondered what a picnic under the stars with a bunch of monsters would be like? If so, do not miss the Randpark Ridge community picnic at 6pm at Loerie Park in Randpark Ridge. The picnic offers entertainment for all ages with its exiting Halloween market, a photo booth to capture those special moments and a treasure hunt to get rid of the little ones’ excess energy. If you forget your picnic basket, no worries, there will also be food stalls available to maintain any appetite.

Brightwater Commons Annual Halloween Event

Halloween cannot be more entertaining than at The Brighwater Commons annual Halloween event. The shopping centre in President Ridge will be swarming with entertaining activities for all ages. The mysterious House of Horrors opens its doors at 4pm while other activities such as face-painting, balloon-modelling and trick or treating start at 3pm. Entrance is R50 for everyone older than 12. Be sure to dress up as best as you can, as there are great prizes up for grabs during the annual fashion show. Other entertainment includes stilt-walkers, a magic show by Ryan Sharp, a flying violinist, Colin Underwood the hypnotist and a promising performance by Jacques Terre’blanche from Idols. The Rugby World Cup final will also be screened so there is no excuse to miss this extravagant event.

Halloween at Ster-Kinekor

Hotel Transylvania 2 fans who want to meet the zombie porter and win a prize from his suitcase of treasures, get yourself to this exiting event at

Cradlestone Ster-Kinekor in Muldersdrift. All ages are welcome to join in the fun for free that will be ongoing all day. For the children, there’s a special haunted castle to visit and there are also face painters. Ster-Kinekor has also promised to tantalise your taste buds with some scary but sweet Halloween treats.

ESP Night Club Halloween Party

Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) Night Club in Ferndale makes sure Halloween is not just a playground for children. The club is promising a mind-blowing party from another dimension. Dress up in your weirdest, funniest, scariest or craziest outfit to party like a rock-star. Doors open at 9pm and tickets cost R100.

Empire Tatoos Annual Zombie Walk

Empire Tattoos are calling on all the living dead to join their annual Zombie Walk. Do not leave any family member at home as there is nothing scarier than an entire zombie family. The Zombie hoards meet at the gates of Westpark Cemetery at 1pm (Daylight Zombie Time) to go slurring around the streets until 4pm. After the walk a fun-filled after-party will be held at Hell’s Kitchen in Melville. Do not miss this memorable event as it is not only fun but also a fundraiser for the charity Maranghouse .
