Maya the Bee movie is an incredible, fun, adventurous film for children which opened in cinemas on 20 September at Montecasino to indulge media personalities and their children to a private preview of the animated movie.

Children were treated to an afternoon of movie and popcorn.

The film is based on a young bee that seeks to find its voice among the older generation of insects on the planet.

Maya wakes up and finds a new world that is governed by rules and protocols and it immediately drives her inquisitive spirit.

When an older and wise bee forbids her from coming out before the right time, Maya ignores her, and discovers the world on her own.

This animated movie, also touches on how adults want to protect and guide the young ones, while they suppress children’s inquisitive minds and self-discovery.

Good: It is school holidays, and children can be entertained by this adventurous fun-filled film. It also uses appropriate language and amazing sounds which tickle children and kept some glued to their seats.

The themes of peace, harmony and companionship among diverse animals are highlighted and it teaches children to always tell the truth.

Bad: For younger children, an hour of sitting down attentively and watching a film, can be a little bit too much.

Almost 45 minutes later, you could see younger children getting restless and going to the loo more than once, as if they were telling their parents that they have had enough of sitting and watching.

The review was made possible by Montecasino.
