Advanced realistic combat experience launched

No more war games that keep the player glued to the screens for hours on end or getting dirty playing paintball. Black Ops Advanced Tactical Laser Tag is the future of laser tag gaming. It takes players out of the virtual worlds of today’s most popular video games and lets them compete in real world environments. Black Ops Advanced Tactical Laser Tag was launched in Strijdom Park on 27 August.

It is a live game, placing players in the most lifelike combat environment and is powered by the latest US military-spec, and offers a training platform currently deployed by the FBI, the US Army, and tactical training academies around the world.

The sounds that are heard while the game is on, is very realistic and take one straight into Iraq as bombs, helicopters and explosives go off in the background. Sessions are 90 minutes long and include orientation, ‘gear up’ and briefings which help the player to understand the roles they are expected to portray as well as the different roles during the game.

There are 21 different missions, from Black Hawk Down, SWAT and Domestic Threat to Judge Dread, Reaper and Sniper. Some missions are focused on team work, others on strategy, and some on individual domination. Players are placed in special task teams and have specific functions, duties, titles and roles. On the first mission, a player might be in command of a team escorting a high-ranking official and on the next mission be a sharpshooter hiding in a sniper’s nest.

Missions and scoring are displayed and controlled in real time with state-of-the-art software for the entire world to see. Player accounts track scores, so rankings display who is the best of the best across the world.
