GREYMONT – Bob Dahmen and Jacques Breedt tells of their love for sports.

Bob Dahmen and Jacques Breedt from Muscle Zone in Greymont are making waves in the fitness world.

Dahmen, who is originally from Malawi, is well known for being a personal trainer and a fitness instructor. Samson – as he is affectionately known by his Gladiator fans – explained that he has been in the fitness industry for over 35 years.

“I am out to prove a point that over 40-year-olds can stay in shape and compete,” he said.

He added that he is also motivated to help youngsters against bullying and improving their level of confidence.

For Dahmen, being a bodybuilder was not always his first choice. He always wanted to be a soccer player, however, he enjoyed physical fitness more.

On the other hand, boxing coach and self-defence instructor Breedt is following in his father’s footsteps.

“I enjoy keeping fit and love the sport,” he said.

“I am keen on transferring my skills to the next generations – I am motivated in getting young people off the streets and into the gym.”

Breedt is currently training hard for the South African National Amateur Boxing Organisation senior championships which take place next year.

After years of competing, the two sportsmen now focus their knowledge and experience on youngsters.

Aspiring boxers should acquire as much knowledge as possible and make sure that they never lose their love for sport – be a good winner and a sporty loser, advised Breedt.

Dahmen also advised that bodybuilders should become goal-oriented.

“Make gyming a lifestyle. Most importantly, don’t get enticed into taking any anabolic steroids, but, rather use hard work and discipline,” he said.

Owner of Muscle Zone Coleen Olivier expressed her appreciation of the pair. “We are extremely proud to have Jacques and Bob as part of our team and are equally proud of their accolades thus far. We look forward to their future achievements and are in full support of them,” Olivier said.
