Brixton fun day

BRIXTON - Heritage Day has never been this much fun.

Live music, handmade crafts, home-made food and one of the finest views in Jozi – sounds good, right?

Mark 27 September down in your calender – Brixton Heritage Day in the Park is free, and it’s going to be fun. The event kicks off at 10am at Kingston Frost Park.

“It’s going to be a great day out for all,” event organiser Ashley Heron promises.

“Wear traditional clothing to celebrate your roots, bring you friends and family, picnic blankets and umbrellas and kick back and have fun.”

A Brixton Heritage Tour will be kicking off at 10am from the Sentech Tower on the day. For kids there will be a playing area complete with a jumping castle, balloon sculpture and a whole range of activities.

Music by Tasha Baxter, Zamo and Amaryoni, Brixton Orkes and special guests promises to soothe the ear, photographs and art will be on display for the visually inclined, and popcorn, candy floss and delicious food will be available. You can even bring along your tennis racket if you fancy a game with fellow Brixtonites.
