The original Melville-based comedy family Goliath and Goliath are celebrating their third AWEdnesday birthday at the Gold Reef City Lyric theatre on 29 October.
AWEdnesday started three years ago and has been held on the last Wednesday of every month come rain or shine.
This larger than life show features a line up of South Africa’s comedic heavy weights who have contributed to the shows success since it’s inception – Conrad Koch/Chester Missing, Trevor Gumbi and Stuart Taylor, Richlieu Beaunior and of course, Donovan, Jason and Nicholas Goliath.
In three short years, the Goliaths have had a meteoric rise in the South African comedy scene. Starting out with a small club gig called AWEdnesday they now run seven comedy gigs across Johannesburg. They have created a very welcomed platform for aspiring comedians and legends as well as a space for all comedy lovers new and old.
Goliath and Goliath started with the three Goliath boys and a Goliath girl: Donovan, Jason, Nicholas and their boss Kate Goliath. They have grown to include nine comedians and scores of adoring fans.
Five comedians out of the Goliath and Goliath team have been nominated for the upcoming Savannah Comics Choice Awards.
