Pop in at Pop-Up

LINDEN - Love art prints and tasty food. Linden's pop-up shop should be your destination on 30 August.

Pop Up on 4th in Linden will be displaying the biggest range of prints from The Artists’ Press that have been exhibited in one place. Mark 30 August down in your diary for this momentous occasion.

“The Artists’ Press Limited Edition Print Pop-Up Shop has been brought to Johannesburg to promote a wide scope of artists the studio collaborates with,” Ann Roberts, director of Pop Up on 4th said on 15 August.

The Artists’ Press is based in White River, Mpumalanga, and it is run by Tamara Mason and master printer Mark Attwood. They focus on hand-printed lithographs that are printed by master printers in collaboration with artists. The artists they represent are among the finest in South Africa and have exhibited locally and internationally. The subject matter reflects, predominantly, the socio-political and cultural landscape of Southern Africa.

“It will be the first time that artists Claudette Schreuders and Anton Kannemeyer will have their work shown in Linden, the suburb where both of them grew up,” Attwood said.

Other artists whose work will be shown on the day, are Diane Victor, Willem Boshoff, Conrad Botes, Sibonelo Chiliza, Karin Daymond, Judith Mason, Sam Nhlengethwa, Nandipha Mntambo, Kim Berman, Sara Cao, Thami Jali, Espoir Kennedy, Johann Louw, Dumisani Mabaso, Colbert Mashile, Eugenie Marais, Tommy Motswai, André Naudé, Walter Oltmann, Tony Nkotsi, Fiona Pole, Mmakgabo Sebidi and Penny Siopis.

Children will also be able to try their hand at printmaking (during the Print Pop-Up Shop) and the Artist’s Press and Pop-Up Shop team will be there to ‘chat up a storm’.

Lilly Rosemary and Taylor’s Good Food Truck will be providing tasty food and craft beers and wine will also be available.

Doors open to the public from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, 30 August.
