MTN Joyous Celebration – 27-28 September

Joyous Celebration will roll back the years and thrill fans with past gospel hits when they take to the stage at the annual MTN Festival at The Teatro at Montecasino. Over the past 17 years the renowned gospel ensemble has released numerous classics that have propelled them to stardom and these are some of the tunes they will be dishing out at the festival. This two-day concert will also feature amazing solo performances by some of South Africa’s most renowned gospel artists and previous members of the group.

Field Band National Championships – 28 September 

The thrilling sounds of 1700 young musicians will fill Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium, during the 2013 Field Band National Championships. Fourteen talented field bands from around the country will converge on the stadium and perform their hearts out. Their goal: to be named best field band of the year in this annual competition.

WHERE: Wanderers Stadium, Corlett Drive, Illovo

WHEN: Saturday 28 September from 9am to 1pm

Breakfast with Joburg Zoo’s rhino keeper – 28 September

Visitors are invited to enjoy and celebrate breakfast with rhino keeper Alice Masombuka and hear first-hand stories about the zoo’s rhinos. Breakfast will include a talk by Alice, who will share her stories and experiences, as well as discuss the five rhino species and their ongoing struggles in the wild. Visitors will be allowed access to the rhino’s night rooms where they will enjoy watching the fascinating creatures play with balls in various sizes.
