Linden boxer turns 10-rounder into just 2

Malawian fighter Crispin Moliati was knocked out in just two rounds at the Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Polokwane.

Local boxer Tshifhiwa Munyai cut a 10-round contest short by knocking his international opponent out in only the second round.

The fighter from Alan Toweel Boxing Gym in Linden fought against Malawian Crispin Moliati at the Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Polokwane.

“This was a keep-busy fight for Tshifhiwa and he looked sharp and methodical in his approach,” coach Alan Toweel said.

The fight was in the junior welterweight division one above Munyai’s previous fight’s weight, lightweight.

He demonstrated a lot of power in this fight and in future he will be campaigning in that division, Toweel said.

On December 11, another of Toweel’s boxers will be in the ring.

Rofhiwa ‘Tsetse Fly’ Nemushungwa will be challenging for the World Boxing Association pan-African bantamweight title against dangerous Namibian Fillipus Shaanika, who has had eight wins, one loss and one draw, and is currently the Namibian junior featherweight champion.

The fight will take place under the J4JOY Boxing Promotions banner at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

On December 16, Toweel’s heavyweight fighter Wilhelm Nebe will be contending a six rounder against Shaun Potgieter.

Both fighters have had five wins, with Nebe two losses and Potgieter one.

Toweel expects this to be an evenly-matched fight.

“On the same bill my cruiserweight Tuvia Wewege will be having his fifth fight against undefeated Zimbabwian Tendai Sinakonda, who has two wins and a draw. Wewege has four wins.

The fight will take place at the Booysens Boxing Club under Boxing 5 Promotion.
