UJ sweep past Tut in emphatic victory in Varsity Netball
UJ under captain Bongi Msomi the team are continue to dominate on the netball court.
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) dominated against Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in round five of the Varsity Netball competition, winning their Gauteng derby 77–32.
The match was played in the NWU amphitheatre in Potchefstroom and UJ is now just one point behind Tuks who are in fourth position overall.

The team under captain Bongi Msomi is continuing to impress. Their defenders worked hard to keep the pressure on their opponents with Tarle Mathe and Boitumelo Mahloko in particular not giving their opponents much breathing space.
The court was dominated by UJ leading to the half-time break, with Tut only managing a couple of much-needed goals in the fourth quarter.

Mathe, who was the player of the match, said following their victory, “We had a good match, we had a game plan coming here today, with set goals for ourselves. Going forward to Bloemfontein next week, we must just stick to the game plan.”
Assistant coach Nomsa Zungu said they planned to continue to perform well this year. “We can never predict what a netball game can turn out to be, but we can manage to perform well. In essence, it’s not about how many games we win, but it is about setting up our own goals and then achieving them.”
