The University of Johannesburg (UJ) edged out the University of KwaZulu Natal 1–0 to go top of the Varsity Football table.
A strike in the 52nd minute from Tebogo Mandyu was enough for the boys in orange to continue their spectacular run of form.
This victory comes on the back of a 2–1 win against Wits University and extends UJs unbeaten run in this year’s competition.
Wits University played out to a goalless draw as they hosted the Tshwane University of Technology (Tut) on the same evening.
Wits are now fourth on the log with seven points, three behind the log leaders.
Fixtures scheduled for 23 August involve the top four teams on the log.
UJ will host second-placed Tut, while Wits will host North-West University who occupy third position.
The #VarsityFootball log after all the round 4 action tonight. Plenty changes in the table with NWU losing to TUT and the orange army taking over top spot after their win over UKZN.
