VIDEO: Bongumusa Mthembu wins the 2018 Comrades Marathon

JOBURG – Mthembu is the second South African to win the ultra marathon back to back.

 

Bongumusa Mthembu has again lifted the South African flag high after winning the 93rd edition of the ultra-marathon with an impressive time of 5:26:35.

The 35-year-old who hails from Bulwer, a small town in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands region, has won himself a R440 000 cash prize amongst others.

His first win was in 2014 and he took the title again last year.

Mthembu is the second South African to win the Comrades back to back following Bruce Fordyce.
