Northcliff High School’s squash girls faced tough competition against schools from around the country at the Saints Sports Festival 2018.

Northcliff won three out of their five matches. Coach of three years, John Shannon said, “It’s very fun to be playing at such a prestigious tournament and all the girls are excited to be here. So far they are winning most of their matches and they are highly motivated.”

On 28 March, the girls played their first match against Egoli Development School winning 18–0.

This was followed by a match against St Andrews School, where the girls won by one game in the end, in an 11–10 result.

The Northcliff girls lost to Diocesan School for Girls Grahamstown 6–12 and Eunice High School 1-18 on 29 March, but won their match against Kingswood 11-10 on 31 March.

Squash is a very popular sport at Northcliff High, with seven girls and 12 boys teams competing of all ages.
