DROP OFF A PAIR AND SHOW YOU CARE
During the 2015 SPAR Women’s Challenge, Caxton staff noticed that many children from disadvantaged schools in Johannesburg took part in the SPAR Women’s Challenge
race, barefoot.

This year, Caxton is running a special charity drive for the 2017 SPAR Women’s Challenge – to put shoes on feet – so that the shoes can be used not just to run the race but to keep cold winter chills away from feet as well.
Those participating in the Spar Women’s Challenge can drop off their old shoes when they collect their race numbers at the Marks Park Sports Club.

There is also a drop of point at Caxton House 368, Jan Smuts Avenue, Craighall or at Cornelius Street, cnr JG Strydom road, Weltevredenpark.

While size and style of the shoes does not
matter, it is important that the shoes are all in a good condition.

Those who donate shoes stand a chance of winning one of five R1 000 SPAR vouchers, one of five sets of Asics running shoes or one of five hair vouchers from Tanaz in Sandton.

The draw and prize winners will be announced the week after the race.

The SPAR Women’s Challenge offers women from all walks of life, levels of fitness, shapes and sizes the opportunity to partake in a 5km or 10km road race (walk or run).

This challenge is the most popular and inclusive road race in South Africa, attracting the country’s top professional female athletes and a vast range of recreational runners. Proceeds from the race are donated to Reach 4 Recovery, an international breast cancer support group. It is affiliated to the International Union Against Cancer (UICC). It is a non-medical programme designed to help women with breast cancer in their return to daily life.
