Northcliff High hockey season ends on a high note

NORTHCLIFF – Northcliff High School's U16 and first teams finished 8th and 6th respectively in Gauteng.

It is a prestige to not only play in the Howell Pullen hockey tournament but to finish in the top 10.

Northcliff High School’s first team finished in 6th place out of the 24 top hockey schools which participated in the tournament. Schools that participated included Linden High School, St Stithians College and Fourways High School.

While they ended 6th in the province, Northcliff’s pool matches went swimmingly after winning three, drawing one with their only loss coming against St Stithians.

Northcliff’s U16 team also managed a top 10 finish after coming 8th out of 20 Gauteng schools.

They, too, did well in their pool matches, winning three and only losing to Hoërskool Noordheuwl.

The teams’ successes were praised by the school and also made it onto the pages of Awsum News, a primary and high school news magazine.
