UPDATE: Top 20 out of thousands for Northcliff High

NORTHCLIFF – Northcliff High School's U15 netball team has gone from the bottom of the league to Gauteng's top 20.

The Northcliff High School (NHS) U15 netball season is officially over after the school took 17th place out of thousands of Gauteng schools.

The school finished top of their league after winning 14 out of 15 matches. Later they won two out of five matches during the league playoffs securing them a place in the Gauteng School Sports final.

At the final, the school played against teams in the A league and still managed to place in the top 20 out of 3 000 schools that participated.

While 17th place doesn’t seem like much of an achievement, the team has gone from winning about four matches during their previous season to participating in the highest level of Gauteng school netball.

The school is thrilled about the superb achievement and congratulated the team on social media.

The way forward for the team now is for their new coach, Nicole Grobler, to continue coaching the girls until they reach the first netball team.

Grobler has dreams of moving up into A league, however, she recognises the challenge and first and foremost wants to focus on building a strong team that will be able to cope with A league teams on the court.
