Double front kicks, and more to spare

NORTHCLIFF – Jayden and Jonathan Duncan win big at an international tournament in Zimbabwe.

Jayden and Jonathan Duncan have done it again.

The two karate maestros represented South Africa in the Protea Karate Team at the 15th African Union Sports Council Region 5 Championships.

The international tournament took place in Harare Zimbabwe, from the 26 – 28 May.

You might remember the brothers, who train at [Northcliff Karate Academy for their great achievements. Their dedication and fierce need to follow their passions led them to achieve SA Protea colours  which they have worn for the past three years.

Father of the twins, Jonathan Duncan said that he was very proud of his sons. “I am pleased that both boys did exceptionally well, they both placed first in their respective categories and brought home continental gold medals,” said Duncan. He also said that national karate federations from Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia, attended the event.

Their karate instructor, Mary Jamieson said their success is no surprise to her. “They are both very talented boys, their focus and attention to the finer details is one of their many great attributes,” said Jamieson.

The boys will travel to Belgium next month to participate in the Junior Lefevre International Summer Training Camp taking place in Liege. Here they will serve as ambassadors to the country, their club as well as their educational institution.

Jamieson concluded that she looks forward to even greater achievements in the future.
