Get set, Jura!

EMMARENTIA –The Hollard Jozi Urban Run Adventure is back and ready to run the town.

Mark your calendars for the Hollard Jozi Urban Run Adventure at Marks Park on 28th May 2016. The Hollard Jura is a race that combines the best parts of trail running, adventure racing and obstacle courses to form a whole new urban running experience.

Russell Willis, event organiser, said, “Last year’s dramatic turn in weather and the resultant postponement was a disappointment, but the reaction and understanding from our entrants have been extraordinary. It really shows that there is no one tougher than a Joburger, they are always ready for whatever life throws at them.”

And what is going to be thrown your way at the Hollard Jura 2016?

  • The opportunity to get wet and wild on the new 40 metre water slide
  • An all-access pass to Joburg parks and the best trail Joburg’s green belt has to offer
  • For the brave – leaps over small rivers and ravines. (For the not so brave, a couple of custom-built bridges)
  • A harrowing 120m floating bridge across Emmarentia Dam
  • A chance to explore the underbelly of Joburg through storm-water drains and underpasses
  • Scaffolding bridges that will give you a true view from above
  • Some rock climbing up Alberts Farm
  • Our affectionately named ‘Hay Bale Hell’ course
  • More than 1km of pathways through towering reeds from Parkrun to Parkour. Entrants can pick from three distance options: 6km, 12km and 18km. Each distance will feature a variety of inner-city obstacles, detours for those less muddily inclined and routes that will give each die hard the chance to climb, crawl and run through an epic urban jungle gym.

For those who would prefer to enjoy the last days of summer with family and friends, the Hollard Adventure Weekend Race Day Village at Marks Park will be packed with action for the whole family.

Some fun to look forward to: A mini obstacle course for kiddies, an SAB beer garden and “Gig Rig”, Joburg’s top food stalls, an ABI family area, and much more. Follow all the latest news and announcements via social media by following their Facebook page.

Entries are open. Entry fees are R249 for the 6km, R299 for the 12km and R330 for the 18km.
