Randburg, Panorama and Wits Football clubs’ young players are among the selected soccer champions.

The Rand Central Local Football Association (RCLFA) districts U10 team played in the Safa Johannesburg U10/12 tournament on 24 October, where 12 soccer champions were selected from 500 young players.

The champions are Hayden Best and Senna Henson of Randburg FC, Peter Diesel of Panorama FC, Van Rooyen Mibe of Wits FC, George Grenfell of Crusaders FC, Matthew Seaber and Sean Simoncelli of ETS, Ethan Garcia of Bosmont FC, Shamir Materra and Zuko Mazibuko of Supersport United, Thomas Ottermann of DSJ and Benjamin Scher of Dainfern FC.

One of the coaches for the RCLFA, Leah Knott, said, “They finished at the top of Group B with 10 points after four games (three wins and a draw), 11 goals for and two against.

She said they then went on to defeat Eldorado in the semi-final 2–0 and won the final beating Alexandra 1–0.

Knott said the RCLFA U12 side also won the U12 section of the tournament.
