5 September: JURA

You’ve seen Jozi on your MTB now experience it on your feet, crossing over rivers and crawling under roads through tunnels. The creators of the Hollard JUMA, BAM, in partnership with City Parks, bring you the all new adventure-packed Hollard Jozi Urban Run Adventure (JURA).

Get to Marks Park in Emmarentia – run starts at 7am. There will be a 6km Fun Run at R249 per entrant; A 12km Adventure Run and an 18km Adventure Run at R299 and R330 respectively.

5 September: Pennypinchers Silverstar MTB Challenge

Mountain bikers will follow a revamped 40km route from Silverstar Casino up onto the Krugersdorp Ridge and then down the old Pretoria-Krugersdorp road through the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden en route back to the casino. The event also offers a 20km racing option for those looking for a more manageable but still exciting day on the bike.

 6 September: JUMA 

Cyclists get ready for the big event at Marks Park in Emmarentia. Two races will be held at JUMA with the (not for beginners) 55km at R399 per person. The other more docile, but riveting race is the 22km at R299 per person. The races starts at 7am but SAS seeding of each race will apply.

 8 September: World Physio Day Fun Run

The Orthopaedic Unit of Rita Henn and Partners in association with Netcare Rehabilitation Hospital will be hosting a fun walk for patients to commemorate World Physiotherapy Day. The fun walk will comprise of a 1 km route where patients of various conditions will walk, run, or push their wheelchairs with the assistance of the therapists. The aim of this is to raise awareness of the importance of physical rehabilitation in conditions such as spinal cord injuries, strokes, fractures and amputations.

The event will take place from 9am till 12pm at Netcare Rehabilitation Hospital (2 Bunting Road Auckland Park). Various patients and staff will be speaking on the day. There will be a prize-giving once the route has been completed.

 12 September: Honeydew CPF Sector 2 – 5km Fun Run / Walk

Join your fellow community members in a fun run or walk on the day that kicks off at the Weltevreden Park Primary School at 8am at a cost of R10 per entrant. Put a team of six together to compete for the trophy for the winning team in the run, or just bring the family and enjoy the walk.

13 September: Douglasdale Fun Run 

Compete with Douglasdale SAPS and CPF while being a part of your community fun run at R50 (under 12s for free). The race will start at Cooper College, Jukskei Park, Randburg, Johannesburg North, Corner of Bellairs Drive becomes School Street, and Prichard Street. The day will start at 8am and is expected to go onto 3pm.

15 September: Ann Harding Cheshire Home Golf Day 

Support your local Northwold organisation by joining them at the golf day hosted at Eagle Canyon. The day will consist of a fun-filled round of golf at

R2 400 per 4-ball, which includes green fees, golf carts, halfway house and dinner. The first tee-off will start at 11.32am followed by the dinner and

prize-giving at the Function Room at Eagle Canyon Country Club where raffeles and prizes will be on offer.
