Jura’s entries open

EMMARENTIA – Interested residents have an opportunity to enter for three distance options: 6km, 12km and 18km.

The registration for this year’s Jozi Urban Run Adventure (Jura) has opened. The event specialist BAM has partnered with City Parks and Joburg Zoo to stage Jura on 5 September.

Interested residents have an opportunity to enter for three distance options – 6km, 12km and 18km.

Each distance will feature a variety of out-of-the-box obstacles, optional hurdles and routes that will give each contender the opportunity to explore on foot the challenges and beauty of that Joburg’s urban terrain. Race registration can be done via the website or at Mark’s Park’s Sport Club from 2 to 4 September on Judith Road in Emmarentia.

A run across Emmarentia Dam over a narrow 120m floating bridge is among the obstacles that will give runners a formidable running experience.

The run will commence and finish at Mark’s Park. The entry fees are R249 for 6 km, R299 for the 12 km and R330 for the 18km. Despite the run, the Hollard Adventure Weekend Race Day Village at Mark’s Park will be alive with activities for the whole family; with yummy food stalls, a mini obstacle course for kiddies, the ABI family area, and the beer garden.

Jura, along with the Jozi Urban MTB Adventure (Juma) will form part of the Urban Adventure weekend festival, attracting between 7 500 and 15 000 adventurers.
